Gentle Giants
We had been staring out to sea for half an hour. The water was a beautiful clear turquoise, but we had not seen any tell-tale dark shapes beneath the calm surface. Although we had been told that at this time of year a sighting was practically guaranteed, perhaps this would not be our lucky day. Then the spotter hanging on to the mast shouted something in Tagalog, and the calm was broken.
